The short version
I'm Khalid — a full-stack engineer based in Dhaka, building for teams in Hong Kong, France and the US.
I started out contributing to open source, then spent an internship at Prayers Connect learning how real frontend work differs from tutorials: accessibility, code that another person has to maintain, and shipping to a deadline. Since then I've worked as a contract and freelance engineer, earning Top Rated on Upwork, and today I build product at Aplash.
The work I like best sits in the middle of the stack — schema design, caching strategy, the API contract between frontend and backend. Get those right and the product feels fast for free; get them wrong and no amount of UI polish saves it.
Away from the keyboard I'm usually reading, playing cricket, or working through a coffee somewhere with a notebook.
What I'm doing
- Building product at Aplash, mostly TypeScript and Next.js on the frontend with Node services behind it.
- Taking on a small number of freelance builds where the problem is interesting.
- Writing here more often — notes on tooling, performance, and things I got wrong.
